The King of Kings is a powerful, incredible and unique re-telling of the life of Jesus told by Charles Dickens. This is a must see for all the family.

This CGI animated film which tells the birth, death and resurrection of Jesus is also loosely based on the little known The Life of our Lord, a work by Charles Dickens, who told the story of Jesus to his children every Christmas and was eventually published to be shared with the world.

The King of Kings starts with Charles Dickens telling his story of the Christmas Carol to a theatre audience, which gets interrupted by his children, especially Walter who is fascinated with King Arthur. That evening Charles tells his son the greatest story ever told, and what begins as a bedtime tale becomes a life-changing journey. Through vivid imagination, Walter walks alongside Jesus, witnessing His miracles, facing His trials, and understanding His ultimate sacrifice. The King of Kings invites us to rediscover the enduring power of hope, love, and redemption.

This is a unique way of sharing the Good News of Jesus, being told by Charles Dickens, and features a star studded cast including Oscar Isaac, Kenneth Branagh, Uma Thurman, Pierce Brosnan, Ben Kingsley, Mark Hamill, Forest Whitaker and Roman Griffin Davis. 

With stunning animation, the film moves between Charles telling the story in his study to being in the scenes with Jesus, following his journey from birth to death to resurrection. It is a clever plot device to have Walter being there with Jesus watching the story through his own eyes, through his imagination. 

Charles Dickens wanted to tell the story to his son because Jesus is more powerful than any king his son was interested in, Jesus is the King of Kings, the Son of God, the saviour of the world, and Charles wanted his son to be excited about Jesus. This film does that, you can feel the passion and excitement, and also the emotion, it encourages us to be excited and passionate about Jesus  and encourages us to imagine ourselves there with Jesus to experience everything Jesus went through. 

The film exclaims that Jesus is the saviour of the world and our sins can be forgiven when we place our faith in Him. This is a powerful and amazing telling of the life of Jesus and why He came to this earth, and what Easter is all about. This is a must see.
