Our Full Review

Legacy Peak is a thrilling, faith-based, family adventure movie that brings inspiration and encouragement to fathers and families alike whilst keeping focused on our Heavenly Father. This is a must see movie.

The film follows Jason, who is on an adventure to win the hearts of his girlfriend Noelle’s kids before they marry. The plan for them to fly to her parent’s cabin days before she wraps up work quickly falls apart as they have to make an emergency landing in the middle of nowhere. The adventure turns to a struggle to survive before this new family can start a life together.

We’ve been waiting a long time for another film from Aaron Burns since Beyond The Mask, and yes it has been worth the wait. This time Aaron delivers a modern day adventure story that is packed full of faith, action and adventure. There are some twists and turns in the story and it will have you on the edge of your seat in plenty of moments, but there is also heart and faith and encouragement.

This film is well directed, well shot with some amazing scenery and well acted. The film stars Lucas Black, Kyleigh M. Bakker, Roman Engel, Todd Terry and Ina Barron. The dynamic between Lucas, Kyleigh and Roman’s characters bring a reality to the film and you really feel their struggles and hopes as you follow their adventurous journey.

As we follow Jason and his quest to be a father to his girlfriend’s children, we see how he relies on God’s strength and help which in turn helps him to discover how to be a father, to stand in the gap between danger and life, something that we are reminded that Jesus has done for us. Jesus stands in that gap between our sin and God with His arms outstetched so that we can come to the Father.

This is a family film but be advised that there are some scenes that younger children may find a bit scary.

Overall Legacy Peak is an awesome, exciting and thrilling adventure story, that brings home the heart of being a father. There is encouragement and inspiration as it shows how God is our perfect Father and how we can trust Him. This is a film not to be missed.

Legacy Peak is an Affirm Films Original and is streaming exclusively on Pure Flix.
