Our Full Review

He Calls Me Daughter is a powerful, hope-filled and life-changing film. This is a must see.

Rick Altizer, the award-winning director of the Kendrick Brothers’ documentary Show Me the Father brings this latest documentary He Calls Me Daughter to the screen.

He Calls Me Daughter is a poignant exploration of father-daughter relationships and the lasting impact they have on a woman’s life. Through honest stories and thoughtful insight, the film examines the deep “father wound” many women carry. He Calls Me Daughter reveals how faith in Jesus Christ brings healing, transforms lives and restores identity.

This film continues the theme of fathers, of God being our heavenly father, though this time the focus is for women that carry “father wounds”, pain, hurt, rejection from their earthly father. There are real emotional stories woven throughout this movie, how the’ve experienced hurt, how that has shaped their life and their journey, the decisions they have made and their pain. But there is hope, these stories show how their lives are transformed by the power and love of Christ.

This is again another incredible and life-changing documentary, it offers hope, real hope for those who carry a “father wound”. This film shows that Jesus Christ can bring healing to those wounds, can bring hope, forgiveness and freedom.

Not only can it bring hope, it also encourages us again as fathers to think about how we act, how we represent Jesus and how we show love to our children. Fathers need to rise up and love as Jesus loves.

He Calls Me Daughter is inspirational, it is emotional, the true-stories are raw, you’ll be impacted but it is also filled with hope, healing and restoration. This is a life-changing must see film.
