Family Camp is an inspiring and heart-warming family friendly faith-based comedy that whilst actually being funny delivers some strong messages.
The film follows Tommy Ackerman who is more attached to his work life than to Church. His pastor encourages the congregation to sign up for a week at family camp and his wife Grace believes it will be the perfect cure for their imperfect family. As things go they end up sharing a tent with Dr Eddie Sanders (an over the top, harmonica-playing chiropractor) and his family. Eddie and Tommy soon end up in competitive battles against each other instead of focusing on their families. Tommy and Eddie end up lost deep in the forest while everyone is looking for them, can they work together to find their way back?
This is a very well rounded faith-based Christian comedy that the whole family will enjoy, it weaves wonderfully a hilarious story of two families who have their own issues thrown together at a family camp. There are characters that many of us will be able to relate to and associate with, making us appreciate the film all the more.
This is the first feature film from The Skit Guys and it is very well written and slickly produced, the story line flows and bring us plenty of laughs, twists and turns as well as plenty of moments to give us pause to think about our lives, about our faith and about our families. We would excitedly and happy watch a sequel and here is hoping The Skit Guys bring us another feature length movie.
Overall Family Camp is an entertaining and heart-warming must see family friendly faith-based film that is accessible to all, you’ll be laughing out loud while thinking about faith, redemption, forgiveness and family.
