Our Full Review

No Vacancy is an inspirational and powerfully encouraging movie that prompts us to do what Jesus asked of us.

The film, based on a true story follows a jaded reporter who is demoted to a rural news bureau. Her cynicism is slowly transformed when she befriends a recovering addict as she works a story about a church struggling to purchase a motel for homeless families.

Despite a low budget and slowish start (don’t let this put you off), the pace of the film really picks up and this compelling true story is presented fantastically, it is engaging and you are drawn into the story.

This story is incredible and wonderfully brings across the life changing power of the Gospel, of redemption, encouraging us to trust God, to pray and to help others and care for the needy as Jesus called us to.

The cast includes Brandi Michaels, Harry Collup, Dean Cain and T.C. Stallings who all really bring their characters to life. T.C. Stallings is incredible in this film and this has to be his finest and most powerful performance of his acting career so far as Cecil Johnson, a recovering drug addict. Dean Cain also brings across the humbleness and faithfulness of pastor Cliff Lea.

Enough cannot be said about how incredible this true story is and this film does it justice, the story prompts us to really do what Jesus asked of us, and to see a pastor do this when everything seems against him, shows us that when God asks us to do something, He knows what He is doing and that we need to trust Him.

Overall No Vacancy is an honest film that brings across this true story humbly and with passion, showing the power of the Gospel, encouraging us to trust Jesus and to put others first. This is a must see story of hope, faithfulness and redemption.
