Pure Flix’s sequel to the hit film God’s Not Dead has finished filming and with it scheduled to be released in Easter 2016 we now know the storyline and have a first look with one photo from the production being released.
God’s Not Dead 2: He’s Surely Alive returns to Hope Springs, Arkansas … home to Hadleigh University, and Martin Luther King Jr. High School. There, a beloved history teacher, Grace Wesley (Hart), shares her love of teaching, of life, and of people because of her love of Jesus Christ. When Brooke (Orrantia), a student mourning the loss of her brother, asks Grace a question about Jesus during a lesson about Dr. King and Gandhi, the teacher finds herself in hot water. Their relationship and discussion of God had grown out of a meeting at a coffee shop, but now the conversation is “public,” and not everyone approves.
The principal (Givens) and superintendent team up with a zealous civil liberties group to take Grace to court, and they’re epresented by an attorney with no love lost for God. But Grace has her own advocates, and with the help of a sympathetic and charismatic defense lawyer (Metcalfe), she fights for her career and to keep them from kicking God out of the classroom.
Audiences everywhere will be encouraged to remember, no matter how grim it may seem, that “God is surely alive!”

White (Reverend Dave), Trisha LaFache (Amy Ryan), Benjamin Onyango (Reverend Jude), Paul Kwo (Martin Yip), and the Newsboys (Michael Tait, Duncan Phillips, Jeff Frankenstein, and Jody Davis).
