Our Film of the Month for June 2015 is the spectacular Beyond The Mask.
We believe that Beyond The Mask raises the bar for Christian movies and brings a faith-based film storming into the action/adventure genre; a genre that has been lacking in Christian movies. With production quality that is easily on par with big Hollywood productions and a compelling and gripping story, Beyond The Mask is a must see movie. We gave Beyond The Mask a full 10 out of 10 rating – Click Here to Read our Review of Beyond The Mask
Beyond The Mask brings history to life with the story of Will Reynolds, leading mercenary for the British East India Company. Will has been double-crossed and now is on the run in the American colonies. To redeem his name and win back the woman with whom he’s never been fully truthful, Will takes on a new mask to thwart his former employer. As his past closes in on him, Will must somehow gain the trust and the help of his beloved Charlotte—as well as Ben Franklin—as he races time to defuse a plot of historical proportions. The revolutionary Beyond The Mask is a faith-filled adventure celebrating grace, liberty and the true freedom found only in Christ.
Produced by Aaron Burns and his cousin, Director Chad Burns, who are from a family of home-schooled kids, they made a family affair out of what typically takes a Hollywood army to accomplish—write, produce and distribute a big-screen film. After making their first film as a family/school project, their second—Pendragon—moved into the action-adventure landscape, won awards and played nationally. Now they have stepped it up with the crowd-driven, crowd-pleasing Beyond The Mask —staking out new territory for faith and family movies.
Beyond The Mask is directed by Chad Burns and produced by Aaron Burns, the script has been co-written by Stephen Kendrick (Courageous, Fireproof) and Paul McCusker (Adventures in Odyssey). It starts Andrew Cheney (Seasons of Gray), Kara Killmer (Chicago Fire) and John Rhys-Davies (Lord of The Rings).
Beyond The Mask is receiving rave reviews and has gained a Rotten Tomatoes score of 94% of people who enjoyed the film and as we have said it is a must see movie.
