Amazing

The Star is the must see family Christmas film of the year, full of fun, laughter and a celebration of the birth of Jesus.

The film is a unique telling of the story of the first Christmas told through the eye of the animals. Following a donkey named Bo, who escapes from being a milling donkey to go on the adventure of his dreams and bumps into Mary and Joseph. Mary decides to keep him and gives him the name Bo. Mary and Joseph set off on their journey to Bethlehem leaving Bo as he has other ideas. However upon hearing and witnessing a dangerous threat towards Mary and her baby, Bo and his friend Dave (a dove) team up with a loveable sheep named Ruth who set out following the star to warn Mary and try to protect her. Also on the journey are the three wise men and some hilarious wisecracking camels who are following the star. The animals all group together to protect and witness the miracle birth of Jesus.

Sure there is some artistic licence here with the story and the animals but it keeps the heart and true meaning of the first Christmas and birth of Jesus. The writers have done a great job to keep the heart and message but to also bring in the element of danger that the birth of Christ was under. The film is fun, humorous and also heart-warming brought across through the bright, wonderful animation, the story, soundtrack and the amazing cast of vocal talent.

Families and all ages will not be disappointed, this is the Christmas film of the year and not only does it celebrate the birth of Jesus it also delivers some great lessons in friendship, forgiveness and following God’s calling.

The Star is thoroughly enjoyable and a wonderful, heart-warming, must see film that tells and celebrates the epic story of the first Christmas, the birth of Jesus Christ.
