Sight is an outstanding and remarkable biopic based on the life of specialist eye surgeon Dr Ming Wang. This is a must see film.
The film follows the true story of Dr. Ming Wang, a poor Chinese immigrant in the US who defies all odds to become a world-renowned eye surgeon. Drawing upon the grit and determination he gained from a turbulent uprising in his upbringing, Dr. Wang sets out to restore the sight of a blind orphan.
This film is extremely well produced with excellent directing, cinematography and acting, you’ll be gripped and emotional as the story follows Dr. Ming Wang from his difficult childhood through to his current life as a top eye surgeon.
Terry Chen is excellent as Dr. Ming Wang with Ben Wang as as a younger Ming Wang, both bring a believable and strong performance and really bring the story to life through their eyes. Greg Kinnear also stars as Dr. Misha Bartnovsky who works alongside Dr. Ming Wang.
This is a strong, powerful and inspirational life story and will encourage you to find out more about the real life Dr. Ming Wang, his success as an eye surgeon and also how he came from being an Atheist to knowing Jesus Christ. The film does have a few faith scenes, most of the film is before his conversion to Christianity, however in the later parts of the film we do see him considering faith, coming to a realisation that God is real.
As said the film is wonderfully made and those faith scenes fit into the story as they do in Dr. Ming Wang’s life, even though there are only a few faith scenes, they are extremely powerful.
The film tackles a question that Dr. Ming Wang has and many people have regarding why didn’t God heal the way he wanted, and the answer is so powerful and true that it makes this film a must see.
Sometimes healing comes in unexpected ways and sometimes God uses a disability to bring about His glory.
Overall Sight is a must see film, it is inspirational and outstanding, it is the best film that Angel Studios have released so far.
