Her Final Role, Episode 3 of The Encounter Series is a fresh story where we see Jesus meet an ageing actress who has never encountered Jesus before.
This episode focuses on an ageing movie star, Bethany Baxter, played wonderfully by Morgan Fairchild. She is told by her agent, Matt Kravitz that she is facing the end of her career, which she doesn’t take too well and throws a crystal vase at him, which smashes (important) as he leaves her house.
In her upset state she decides she will write her memoir and starts to recall her storied life to the only man who will really listen, her gardener. After realising that her gardener knows more about her than he should, she wonders if he is the paparazzi. Demanding to know who he really is, he tells her straight that he is Jesus Christ, however she still thinks that is a disguise to get her story. Will she come to realise that He is who He says He is and will that affect her life?
This is a brilliantly written and produced episode, fantastically acted by Morgan Fairchild and Bruce Marchiano (as Jesus), Carey Scott (as Matt Kravitz, the agent) and Mark Christopher Lawrence (as Sheldon, the butler), who all work together and bounce off each other which really makes the episode flow well. It is also one of most amusing episodes so far, with a few bits of humour throughout.
Another great highlight of this episode is that we see Jesus appear to Bethany, someone who has never ever encountered Jesus before. This adds a uniqueness and freshness to this episode and it is fantastic to see. With a bold message for those who have yet to encounter Jesus, this is sure to prompt people to seek Him.
Her Final Role is a top episode and one not to miss, with an intriguing and engrossing storyline. This episode shows us that Jesus knows each one of us and that no matter how far we are away from Him, even if we don’t yet know Him, He knows us and He can put back together the broken pieces of our lives and show us the role He has for us, if only we ask Him.
The Encounter Series is not to be missed, a new episode airs on PureFlix.com every Friday.
