Episode 2 of Pure Flix’s Original Series The Encounter, titled U-turn is a gripping, unique and very interesting story with a fantastic twist.
This episode follows a successful attorney whose father has just died. It opens at the funeral and her having a bitter argument with her mother. The attorney is torn between family and her career. She leaves her mother’s house and decides to leave town and to not return… Driving out in the dark, trying to leave town she comes across ‘The Man’ this time he is a mysterious highway construction worker, who may be the only one that can help guide her out of the darkness, but will she listen to him?
U-turn is very different to Episode 1: Heist, it is a fresh and gripping story that looks at the themes of death and grief, family and self. There are three main characters in this story, ‘The Man’ the attorney and another mysterious truck driver, there is also the attorney’s mother who appears at the beginning and end of the episode.
Much of the story takes place in the mysterious truck drivers cab, who has picked up the attorney after her car had run out of fuel (trying to escape the town but not succeeding), they discuss the events of the day while he takes her out of town. They come across ‘The Man’ (who the attorney has already seen) he joins them in the truck, though the mysterious driver doesn’t like him much. This is where things start to get interesting with twists and turns and one huge twist that we are not going to spoil, you’ll just have to watch it.
These characters are all well acted and really draw you into this captivating story, which again like episode 1 will have you on the edge of your seat.
U-turn is another fantastic episode in The Encounter Series and really shows that there are different and fresh stories to be told. The message is clear and will really speak to many, with the potential to change lives these episodes could be considered as modern day parables.
This is another not to miss episode of The Encounter Series.
A new episode airs on PureFlix.com every Friday.
