Heist really draws you in to an exciting, gripping and life changing first episode of the Encounter Series.

This episode sees a desperate pair of brothers attempt to hold up a convenience store at a petrol station, the heist turns potentially lethal. With time running out, can ‘The Man’ appearing as the store’s cashier, deliver a less deadly outcome to the situation and change the brother’s lives?

The Encounter Series is based upon the Encounter films (The Encounter and The Encounter: Paradise Lost) and has been born out of demand for more, this first episode continues on from the films and has the ‘trademark’ storyline where Jesus appears to people in this day and age, it is very similar to the films. It will be great to see how this series develops and how the storylines change to keep each episode fresh.

Heist, even from the name of the episode sounds exciting and it is, an armed robbery in a petrol station store will keep you on the edge of your seat as you watch in expectation of what could happen. With questions going through your mind, Will the brother’s carry out the robbery? Can ‘The Man’ change their minds? Will they realise who ‘The Man’ is? This adrenaline pumped episode is gripping and thrilling. Finally something good and worth watching on a Friday night.

Bruce Marchiano reprises his role as Jesus or ‘The Man’ as he is known in the series and again is brilliant, with a calm, authoritative and mysterious manner, he really captures how Jesus would talk and interact with people in today’s age.

Carlos PenaVega really carries the episode along with his realistic portrayal as one of the brothers holding up the store, the one that perhaps doesn’t want to go through with it, the one who ‘The Man’ talks too. The final scenes of the episode is where Carlos really delivers with a bold life changing message.

Overall Heist is a fantastic start to The Encounter Series, fans of the original films will love it and with this action packed, adrenaline filled episode, the viewers will grow. This episode is extremely well produced and feels right at home on the TV screen. The Encounter Series is defiantly one to watch and to invite your friends over to watch too. With a life changing message, lives are sure to be changed and people may experience Jesus again or for the first time.

The Encounter Series is not to be missed, a new episode airs on PureFlix.com every Friday.
