Brilliant

More Than Funny is an emotional and hilarious stand-up comedy film from Michael Jr. that inspires and motivates while providing plenty of laughs.

Michael Jr. has been seen on NBC’s “The Tonight Show” and ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live” and has also recently appeared in the Kendrick Brothers’ movie “War Room”. The stand-up comedian’s latest film was filmed in front of a live audience, with a mixture of hilarious comedy interwoven with three life stories to inspire and motive audiences to be “the punchline”, aiming to present comedy in a way you’ve not experienced before.

Michael Jr. is on top form in this stand-up routine, non-pc and hilarious. You will be laughing on the edge of your seat as he delivers joke after joke and that is when he hits you and your emotions, boom in comes a true life story.

These true life stories of which there are three show us the reality of people delivering their punchline and helping people, helping the poor, the least and the lonely in practical ways that changes the lives of those they help. You might need a tissue to wipe your tears during these stories.

The stories are interwoven throughout Micheal Jr.’s comedy as he encourages, inspires and motivates his audience and ourselves to ‘be the punchline’ we are called to be. He compares life to the way comedy works with a set up and a punchline, our set up is what we have received in life, no matter what has happened, even setbacks can set us up for our punchline that we are called to deliver. Our call is to help others through our punchlines and how we deliver them.

Overall More Than Funny is hilarious and will have you in sticks while at the same time have you in tears of laughter but also of compassion. This film is something different, it’s a comedy show that provides the laughs but also encourages and inspires us to help those that need help and to make a difference, not by throwing money at something, but by actually doing something.
