Heavenly Match is a fun and entertaining faith-based romantic comedy that the whole family can enjoy.
The film follows Reverend Casey Hart, a 30 year old, single, female church minister as she tries to lead a church who have too much interest in her love life and steal money from the collection box. Casey is trying to work out who is stealing the money and lead the church while having church members trying to get rid of her. But apart from those issues she also develops some very inconvenient feels for her long time friend and fellow church minister David.
One struggle would be enough but for Casey Hart she has plenty, while her congregation judge her, she herself is struggling with questions of remaining as the minister or pursue other career options.
Whilst this movie may seem like a typical rom-com, it does have a Christian spin exploring the love lives of single church ministers. This adds a new unique angle and it doesn’t disappoint, providing plenty of laughs alongside relatable and real to life characters.
With various plot lines, the story is well written and fun, there is also a real depth to the film as it explores Casey’s struggles. The themes that are evident in the movie include being called to serve God and whether you can be sure of that and be sure of all parts of your life, it also explores themes of forgiveness and being a female minister.
This is a wonderful, humorous and unique romantic comedy that focuses on the struggles of being a female minister, questioning your calling, whilst also falling in love. A light-hearted movie that will entertain whilst delivering some life and faith lessons. Filled with plenty of laugh out loud moments, Heavenly Match is a family friendly film that everyone will enjoy.
