Priceless is an outstanding debut movie from for KING & COUNTRY. Inspired by true stories, the drama, thriller perfectly blends the storyline and faith while bringing awareness to the horrors of human trafficking.
The film follows James Stevens who was, at one time, a good man with a great life. However after the tragic death of his wife and losing custody of his daughter and James is now at the darkest crossroad of his life. Angry and desperate, unable to hold down a job, he agrees to drive a truck on a no questions asked trip cross country for cash. When he discovers that he is actually transporting and delivering two beautiful sisters who are unaware of the danger that awaits them, he is compelled to save them.
This film is extremely well produced, directed and cinematically beautiful coupled together with an excellent script and carried through with the faultless acting from all, especially Joel Smallbone (from for KING & COUNTRY) in his debut role, the hero of the story.
In regards to the acting, all the characters are believe and really grab at your emotions, pulling you along on the journey, feeling their pain and struggles, hoping and praying that these girls are saved.
The story has been inspired by true stories and events which makes this film even more powerful and emotional, to know that this evil is happening in the world right now, inspires you to do something about it and there are organisations you can support who help girls stuck in human trafficking.
It is told in a delicate way only alluding to what is happening to these girls, but due to the nature of the theme of this film which brings awareness to human trafficking, it may not be suitable for everyone especially those who may be sensitive to this theme.
There are many twists and turns in this film and it really is a nail biter right to the end, it will have you on the edge of your seat, compelled and emotional and also as well as bringing awareness to human trafficking, it encourages us never to lose hope, never to lose faith even in the darkest of times and to listen to God’s voice and to know that you are priceless and that women and are to be treated with respect.
Priceless is beautifully told, shot and acted, with a thrilling and compelling story, it really is a rarity and is one of the best films out right now.
Priceless is a powerful must see film.
