With Mother’s Day in the UK on Sunday March 26th 2017 (US Moms will have to wait till May 14th 2017), we have put together a list of films below that we think would make great viewing with your mum on Mother’s Day or even to give as a gift to her.
Our top choice is: Moms’ Night Out
Moms’ Night Out follows Allyson (Sarah Drew) a stressed super clean freak, germaphobe mum with three energetic young children, trying to do everything on her own but feels like she is failing. She embarks on a rare night out with her equally stressed friends while their husbands look after the kids, what could possibly go wrong?
Moms’ Night Out is a family fun filled film, a crazy ride of comedy, not too preachy but has a heart. Its great to see a well produced and funny Christian comedy. The film delivers throughout with its quality production and fantastic storyline. It has plenty of laugh out loud moments and situations that perhaps you can relate to, to just crazy crazy unexpected hilarious moments. Moms’ Night Out is a must see comedy. We have also selected:
Based on the incredible true story of the Beam family. When Christy (Jennifer Garner) discovers her 10-year-old daughter Anna (Kylie Rogers) has a rare, incurable disease, she becomes a ferocious advocate for her daughter’s healing as she searches for a solution. After Anna has a freak accident and falls three stories, a miracle unfolds in the wake of her dramatic rescue that leaves medical specialists mystified, her family restored and their community inspired.
Miracles From Heaven is an emotional film but it’s also inspiring and uplifting. With a message that isn’t preachy this is a film that everyone can enjoy whilst knowing that this is a true story and miracles do happen and ultimately this film could prompt someone to find out more about faith in Jesus and encourage those facing difficult circumstances to know there is a greater hope. War Room follows the lives of Tony and Elizabeth Jordan, who have it all—great jobs, a beautiful daughter, and their dream house. But appearances can be deceiving. Tony and Elizabeth Jordan’s world is actually crumbling under the strain of a failing marriage. While Tony basks in his professional success and flirts with temptation, Elizabeth resigns herself to increasing bitterness. But their lives take an unexpected turn when Elizabeth meets her newest client, Miss Clara, and is challenged to establish a “war room” and a battle plan of prayer for her family. As Elizabeth tries to fight for her family, Tony’s hidden struggles come to light. Tony must decide if he will make amends to his family and prove Miss Clara’s wisdom that victories don’t come by accident.
War Room is the Kendrick Brothers’ boldest, most spiritual and most evangelistic film, it will inspire you, challenge you and change you and your prayer life. It shows us and reminds us that prayer is a powerful weapon. Click here to Read our Review of War Room.
